About My Practice

I opened my private practice in 2006 and moved it to downtown Issaquah in 2010. My easily accessible office is nestled on a creek near downtown Issaquah. Grace Counseling Center offers a place of refuge for those people searching for change in an environment that is filled with grace and guidance; free of shame and judgement.

I believe that all people deserve to live a life filled with love, respect, and hope. My mission is to help my clients, whether they are six or sixty, to become their most authentic self. I utilize a strength-based approach to therapy, incorporating a variety of treatment modalities tailored to the individual needs of the client.

I believe that true happiness occurs when we learn how to love ourselves, and we when we see ourselves as worthy of love and respect. Many of us hear those words, but truly do not understand how to experience it in our own lives—I am here to help you develop the understanding and tools to change your life. Where grace and vulnerability exist, authenticity is sure to follow.

When faced with a life-threatening illness, many of us experience painful emotions (sadness, anger, fear, etc.). I believe that joy and hope are more about embracing each moment, rather than waiting for the outcome we believe is best for us. Living one day at a time requires we learn to accept all the emotions and feelings we experience…not just the ones that we, and others, are comfortable sharing

I believe that inside each of us is the ability to achieve a happy and meaningful life. I am passionate about helping my clients become attentive to the changes they are experiencing and empowering them to identify and pursue their goals. I am compassionate, direct, and interactive. I enjoy working with children, individuals, and couples. I have completed extensive training in grief and loss, and hospice care.

I'm eclectic in my practice style, utilizing whichever technique seems most useful to the client. I am interactive and encouraging. My interests involve working with adolescents, couples, families, and individuals.

I believe all people have the ability to change, provided they have the right tools and are willing to be an active participant in their life journey. I would enjoy the opportunity to work alongside you as you explore new ideas and pursue change.
